Florence loved to collect shells and display them in unique ways. In Violet Shells, she used a light grayish lavender warp as her foundation. Then she began weaving squares, rectangles, and triangles in shades of violet, gray, cream, and ochre.

Lastly, small shells along with a few beads were cascaded down to the fluffy fringe. A small plaster cast of a sea urchin created by her husband, Dillwyn joined the shells as a special embellishment.

Care Instructions

A clean soft brush, lint roller or a gentle shaking outdoors can be suitable to remove dust from your tapestry. If spot cleaning is necessary, use a soft, clean, cold, damp cloth. If unsure, feel free to email me or seek professional dry cleaning help.
